Low pressure sodium lamp advantages

No chromatic aberration

The near-monochromatic radiation emitted by the low-pressure sodium lamp does not produce chromatic aberration in the human eye, so the resolution is better than the continuous or multi-line spectral radiation, which improves the contrast. From the perspective of traffic safety, this factor is very meaningful in places where high visibility is required. For example, car roads, intersections of roads, viaducts, entrances and exits of roads, and tunnels require good visibility. In these places, the color rendering of the light source is relatively less important, and it is more appropriate to use low-pressure sodium lighting. Low pressure sodium lamps are also valuable where lighting is primarily required for safety alert purposes. These places can also be illuminated with low pressure sodium lamps. For example, residential areas, offices, banks, car rooms, factories and hospitals, coal yards, and other places where a limited number of light spots are used as their traffic-oriented color.

Low pressure sodium lamp has high luminous efficiency

Luminous efficiency is referred to as light efficiency. It is the ratio of the luminous flux emitted by an electric light source to its electrical power, in lumens per watt (lm/W), which is the most important technical parameter for evaluating the electrical efficiency of an electric light source. Luminous flux refers to the amount of light radiation per unit time, expressed in lumens. The greater the luminous flux emitted by the light source with the unit electric power, the higher the efficiency of the electric energy conversion light energy, that is, the higher the luminous efficiency.

Other advantages

Low-pressure sodium lamps have other advantages. For example, the shape of the low-pressure sodium lamp is long, and its brightness is relatively low. Therefore, there is no problem of glare. In addition, the operating temperature of the low-pressure sodium lamp is low, and the environment does not occur. The corrosion of the gas causes the optical system of the lamp to be damaged prematurely due to deterioration.
